Call the Midwife blanket

This blanket was posted on the Creative Crochet Crew facebook page.  It was seen in the program, Call the Midwife.  I love it... this will be my next project.
Maybe I might just make it a shawl with three rows of squares, but longer.

I have been making this shawl with the extra colors from the Jonah and Chen blanket, but ...

I'm thinking I can use the left over soft yarn in pastel shades and make a lovely lacy shawl instead ..

Coming together

This Jonah & Chen blanket has been challenging. It is the first time that I haven't LOVED a crochet project. But it is now taking shape and looks quite cheerful and I do like it alot!

A big border with white and other fun colors will complete this.  Then it is a matter of getting it over to Israel to the bride and groom.
Of course when it is finally finished, pictures on this blog will abound.

Some of the squares don't line up quite right, leaving gaps to be filled with plain white.  

Because I used different weight yarns, it doesn't lie exactly flat.
